Cystic Fibrosis Annual Golf Tournament

Approximately one in every 25 Canadians is a carrier of the malformed CFTR gene responsible for CF. All genes come in pairs. A carrier has one good copy and one bad copy of the CFTR gene and consequently does not have cystic fibrosis, and can never get the disease.  In most cases, they are not even aware that they are carriers, because they do not have cystic fibrosis, or any of its symptoms.

Volunteer-driven organization committed to finding a cure or an effective control for cystic fibrosis (CF). Chapters raise funds to support research, improve patient services, promote public awareness, and provide support to families coping with CF. The Vancouver/Lower Mainland chapter liaises with the CF Clinics at BC's Children's Hospital (604-875-2345) and Saint Paul's Hospital (604-806-8522). Hours are 9:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.

Helping Families in Need Society

100% VOLUNTEER SERVICE

Helping Families in Need Society is a small group of dedicated volunteers who take time to pickup and distribute used household items to women from transition houses, single moms on income assistance, new immigrant families and needy families in our community. By donating your used household goods you can make a difference to families in need and help give them a new start. With your donations and those from others in our community we are already making a huge difference.
Let's become partners in caring for others in our community.
